Bummer to see the dog park is no more. Good for Ruston I guess; you get to keep outsiders out. I liked to walk over there then let the pup run a little. Well, I no longer have a reason to spend any time or money in Ruston.
Don't worry Ruston, I won't bother you anymore. I'll keep the lead and arsenic in my soil to remember you by though.
Lyn, a couple of thoughts in response to your comment.
1. I think there are still plenty of people who support having a dog park in Ruston. The two main council folks who were questioning things are not running for re-election and one of the candidates running unopposed this fall worked very hard to craft an alternative solution. I expect she will bring the issue forward again in January.
2. You really don't help your cause by making sarcastic remarks. Ruston has the cleanest dirt in the state (tested and verified). The town did not cause the problems in your soil. It's not fair to punish the small business owners in the area because you don't agree with actions of the elected officials.
3. You might help by offering some solutions. Since you don't pay taxes in Ruston (who is facing economic challenges like everyone else), you might offer to pay an entrance fee to an off-leash area to help with the additional costs of clean up and liability insurance that will be required for this area.
Just some thoughts. Thanks for checking in!
Sorry Lyn for your loss.
I'm sure Ruston will be fine. We will find away to make up for the two sodas you purchased locally.
Jane Clark park is just up the street.Maybe you can stop by safeway for your treats.
