Town Planner Rob White brought in some his famous hard apple cider for a few of the council members and mayor to enjoy after the meeting tonight, capping what Councilmember Jim Hedrick called an historic vote to end Ruston's designation as a town. Town officials promised to keep the name "Town of Ruston" but felt there were enough important reasons to change to a 2nd class city. The ordinance passed unanimously with a vote of 5-0.
