Long Meeting Likely Monday

It could be a long meeting for the council Monday night if the agenda is any indication. Former mayor Phil Parker's former fiance will speak to the council about a memorial, several ordinances are set for passage and the 2011 budget will be discussed.

Of special interest is a settlement of a lawsuit brought by Dave Baumgardner over the development of his property at the end of Orchard Street where the town, former mayor Michael Transue, Huitt-Zollars and Carl Stixrood were all named as defendants. The Town of Ruston also sued Huitt-Zollars. The settlement agreement is available here...

The full packet of information is available here...

So how much has Transue cost the Town now?

Not even a 10th of what Wheeler cost the Town.

Interesting, I thought the Town of Ruston was balancing it's budget over the past several years from money received by the deals of Wheeler. I would imagine there would of not been a Town without certain deals.
