SAMI Now At Camp 6

The News Tribune is reporting that the Science And Math Institute (SAMI) trailers are now set up at the former Camp 6 location at Point Defiance Park for the next year. Construction of the park's new storm water system has begun in earnest at the former location next to the go carts. A new, permanent school for the SAMI students will be constructed at the zoo. The new building will be used for educational classes for both the zoo and SAMI. The new facility is scheduled to open by 2017. Officials will be hosting an informational session about the new building Friday morning at 10:45am at Owens Beach as part of their Explore The Shore program.
