Who provided Ruston Home this letter?

This letter was provided by Ruston Town Hall under a freedom of information request. The letter was passed out at the last civil service commission meeting, at a public meeting. I put in the request that week and was provided the copy today.

so if this is a violation what is going to be done about it? He is not going to get his job back so what is the point of arguing about it?

Jim Reinhold is a fine Police Chief but got caught up in the internecine struggles that seem to consume all the positive energy in the town. Being a Police Chief is a tough job requiring a tough person and feelings are bound to be bruised but only in small towns do they lead to this level of disintegration.

With our new Mayor pro tem and positive outlook council let's move forward. Rehire Jim Reinhold and settle the lawsuit out of court. Winner winner solution.

Also, rescind the mendacious ill-considered tax increase on the Point Defiance Casino and settle that lawsuit out of court.

If we are to move forward and save the town we must adopt a positive attitude and position the town to move forward.

The last comment from Mr. Wingard was edited. Please see the same post on the Ruston Truth blog to review his full comment. (www.rustontruth.blogspot.com)

Jim Reinhold is anything but a fine officer and if the town gets him back - we all lose. Because James Wingard doesn't reside in Ruston he has no basis for his judgement on the former chief's job performance.

Reinhold got fired for not doing his job and harrassing the town residents. Mayor Transue made the right decision and since he has been gone the town has experienced how a real police chief should operate.

Why can't he find another job? Because he has sued two of his last employers and Ruston is the third.

He just needs to move on - like the town has.

I'll remind everyone to be cautious about any personal attacks on this blog. This is a senstive issue and we need to make our points on the issues without attacking other commenters or the people involved in this issue on a personal level. We are ok for now, but we are riding the line....

Thanks for everyone's input!

The previous comment has been edited (repeated as edited below). The full comment is available on Ruston Truth. I have left the reference in this comment to our civil service member, Bill Walker, because it is a fact that a criminal case has been filed with the prosecutor.

I agree with anon #3, the current police department has done an outstanding job by filing a criminal case on bill walker.
