Update on Civil Service Commissioner Walker

I was called as a witness today in the defamation lawsuit filed by Ruston Civil Service Commissioner Bill Walker against former Ruston resident Shirley Jones (link to this case by clicking here).

You will recall that Ms. Jones obtained a temporary protection order against Mr. Walker while her allegations of a sexual assault were investigated (link to that case by clicking here). The permanent protection order was denied (below) and to my knowledge no charges have been filed against Mr. Walker. Mr. Walker is now suing Ms. Jones and Ruston residents "John Doe" 1 through 3.

Some of this I don't understand, like, why were you a witness? I thought this was between two other people.

The documents you just posted from the courts are kind of old. Did you post them before and maybe I missed them?

Are you are being sued,too?

What does John Doe mean? Is there any Jane Does involved.

Very good questions all. It seemed we were kept informed on an up to the minute status there for a long while and then nothing. Will the new law suit be a shot gun approach? Or will some of us be spared.

People shouldn't go around publicly accusing individuals of serious things if they can't prove their accusations.
Bloggers shouldn't post accusations against an individual just because they don't like that person.
That is what happened with Mr. Walker and now there's apparently some legal consequences coming down the road.

What information were you asked for at the deposition?

Karen, are you going to answer the questions that have been posted above? People are wondering about what you put out there on the blog yesterday.
Please help us understand this more. Thanks.

It's clear that you are finding a way to print more negative opinions about Bill Walker and his family by taking the hate mail posts you receive on Ruston Home and posting them on Ruston Insider.

Who is Don Knotts?
