The 3 finalists for Ruston's police chief have completed their oral board exam, but none were selected for the position. So it's back to the drawing board. Chief Reese said the town has begun the advertising process again.
Chief Reese heads off to the east coast to join her husband this week, so the mayor will likely appoint an interim chief again.

I don't understand how the Sgt. Kunkel is not qualified for this position. I think there is something wrong with this town.
Sgt. Kunkel will be a great chief some day, just not yet. The town is wise to wait before forcing him into something he is not ready for.
Sgt Kunkel has been running this department the past year. I certainly hope he does test again but with another department. He deserves better than what he gets here. Typical Ruston, lose something good and spend a lot more. Sgt Kunkel, congratulations on a job well done, they'll soon see how valuable you really were.
P.S. Mayor, I suppose you're going to make Sgt Kunkel the interim - again - that makes no sense not making him full time.
