Shoreline Permit Appeal

The details of the request for reconsideration on the Shoreline Hearings Board decision to allow the Silver Cloud Hotel is available on Ruston Reports here... It outlines 43 pages of complaints by the group of citizens that initiated the first appeal that they feel justifies having the issue reconsidered.

The action puts the development plans on hold once again. The Town of Ruston, along with Point Ruston and others, is named in this, so legal fees (not reimbursable by the developer) will continue to be incurred.

Who prepared the legal papers? Do they have a lawyer? Doubtful they can win so what is purpose?

The purpose is merely to delay the project and force the parties involved to spend more money. They know they are bound to fail, but don't mind, because it really doesn't cost them anything by comparison. It's petty, vindicitve, and an abuse of the system.
