New Street Lights

Ruston's town electrical engineer, Mo Fesharaki reports that the new street lights will turned on a couple of weeks along Highland and Winnifred Streets. The town electrical lineman needs to finish his work and the lights will soon be shining. Work on the Shirley Street lights is just beginning, so it will be a couple of months before that section is lit.

A long time ago I asked one of my favorite professors (who knows a thing or two about urban design) for his advice on what Ruston could do to improve. The response was quick and sure.... put in new, pedestrian-friendly street lighting. It makes the area more inviting, encourages people to get out of their cars and enjoy the neighborhood. It's been a long time coming, but our 1945 vintage lights are about to be retired (above). I look forward to meeting more of you underneath our new lights soon!

Can we have a date when the lights come on so we can plan a party?
