News Of Interest
Two articles of interest in today's News Tribune - as most of you probably know, an 18 year old man was killed in a car crash at N. 46th and Vassault last night (read more here). And considering the trial last week between Point Defiance Casino and Cafe and the Town of Ruston over the gambling tax increase, its interesting to note that Federal Way is considering reducing its gambling tax to help its one casino reopen (read more here).

It looks like we raised the tax on the casino to the average of other municipalities. It is tough out there for everyone. The question is does Ruston WANT the casino. If so, lower the rate to 7.5% . We should help were we can. But understand that we can't give away our revenues either.Business does have a cost. I am in favor of keeping them around if they could handle the lower tax rate.
