At the council meeting last night, Council Member Albertson made public the fact that former police chief Jim Reinhold has filed a tort claim against the Town of Ruston. There were few other details released. The town attorney did not think there was a specific monetary damage amount listed in the claim.
The clerk confirmed she had forwarded the claim to the town attorney and insurance carrier. Each council member now wants a copy as well. The document is public. We'll post it here as soon as we get a copy.
