Reinhold Claims Damages of $1.65 million

Here is the official claim for $1.65 million filed by former police cheif Jim Reinhold. Bear in mind this claim is Reinhold's side of the story - there are always other things to consider in something as complex as this. The exchange of letters between the mayor and Reinhold at his termination is available on the News Tribune's web page here, here, and here. The full 176 claim is availble by clicking here. ~ Karen

Well now. This is going to be fun,
costly,and stressful for the Town.
Lets hope the Mayor had just cause.

"Former Police Chief Files Claim

At the council meeting last night, Council Member Albertson made public the fact that former police chief Jim Reinhold has filed a tort claim against the Town of Ruston. There were few other details released. The town attorney did not think there was a specific monetary damage amount listed in the claim.

The clerk confirmed she had forwarded the claim to the town attorney and insurance carrier. Each council member now wants a copy as well. The document is public. We'll post it here as soon as we get a copy."

None of our lawyers including the mayor read anything. Good thing we have insurance.

Gosh nice retirement if he can pull it off. Just add it to the other employers he sued.

Gosh isn't it nice to work for small governments..they're run by such knowledgeable and caring people. Is that why they get sued?
