Point Ruston's Stack Hill plat might finally be finalized at Monday's council meeting, it appears Huson and Hunt have found a town planner, and Mayor Everding is planning a major staff restructuring (including personnel changes) if we don't change our form of government in a few weeks. I'll have all the background information posted later this weekend on Ruston Reports. ~ Karen

The mayor says the employees are at the pleasure of the mayor so why is there a civil service commission?
At this point, I think the civil service commission only applies to the police department. That may change if the rest of the employees unionize, but I'm not sure.
But that's not what the mayor said.
Let me get this right, if we change the style of government we hire a Town Manager who is hired and works for our current council. The manager who works for the council hires and fires employees. Or we keep status quo and Everding changes our employee status. Sounds like a loose loose scenario here, and we pay 100K more to a manager. If the employees are not union they better start, quickly.
sounds like the mayor is getting ready to fire some people. I hope the employees who are at the pleausre of him have other jobs lined up.
firing squad, you mean. Just like mother RUSSTIA. Feels more like home every day...the smell of gunpowder in the air!
