Karen,
Thank you for hanging in there and keeping the facts flowing. Your Blog is the most neutral, informative information residents of Ruston have to depend on. Please don't give up on us if we don't make comments on a paticular topic. Trust me, the readership is definatly high!

I personally appreciate the forum you offer with this "blog spot" to respond with my name or anonymously to express my feelings at the moment. Sometmes I want to lash out (anonymously)& other times I want to (put my name on it).
I appreciate the option you have provided for all of the community.
"THANK YOU"!

The study sessions this council has sanctioned on a regular schedule (every other Monday)are just as important to attend as the regular council meetings.

NOTE ~ They can not take action at a study session but can carry it over to a regular council meeting and take action without public comment!

I believe this council will act quickly on agenda items at regular council meetings that have been carried over from study sessions. It is very important for all of us to keep informed of the agenda items and watch for the last minute changes.

If you have not attended the study sessions you won't know what hit you.

Now more than ever we need to pay attention and be there "every" Monday to understand where our elected representitives are taking us.

I do like the forum created by this blog. Much more current and anyone can add to the conversation, unlike brand X.

Regarding the never ending study sessions; Get used to it! There is far too much business to attend to that has been put aside for the last couple of years. It would appear that progress is being made.

Mr Stixrood can only attach Huitt-Zollars endless stream of dollars if he is directed to do so by the Mayor or Council. H-Z can be exorcised with ten days notice eye of newt and a small pink slip. No flatulent oratory necessary to grease the rails as H-Z has already built the scaffold high. A little tip and he's launched and gone away forever.

Take note, insufflators, daylight will insure better governance.

One must wonder why the mayor insists on reviewing his list of town manager/planners in the 100k range when the speaker at the meeting hinted that retired and hugely qualified people would do at least as well in the 30 to 40k range just to stave off retiree boredom.

By all means, keep tabs on the meetings share notes and keep posting.

Meanwhile, keep lobbying your legislators in Olympia to add a zero to the fines for breaching the Open Meetings Law.
