SWAT Follow-up

There was a follow up on the Tribune's blog today, a well written letter by the daughter of the man involved with the SWAT standoff. She notes that her dad has lived in and served this community for many, many years and deserves our respect as they deal with issues that many families have faced. Well said...

My hat's off to April. I of all people understand the difficult times that you've gone through. I agree with you that your dad is a good man. I'm sorry that your life had to become public, it's not a good feeling. As you know I'm no longer a member of the Ruston Police Department but I'm still willing to assist you any way I can. Keep your head up, things will get better.

Jim Reinhold, former Police Chief, Town of Ruston.

The town council and the Mayor are obsessed with wasting the town's money but only on their terms. The $20,000 would have covered three years, I believe, with an offer of services by the Sheriff's Department in December which they chose to ignore. They chose to gamble on services from Tacoma Swat Team and they lost, Tacoma probably writing off a years costs on this operation.

Thanks Chief for making sure her name is public.

Good luck on your retirement plans.
