It's Really Happening!

The transition is finally really here! As one who has lived in this area since the smelter shut down and has worked on this project from 1993 until Mike Cohen bought the property in 2006, watching the first new house built is especially poignant.

All the struggle, haggling and battles have not been able to stop progress. From the early Asarco Weeks planning sessions to Ruston's council antics last summer, we have finally arrived at this milestone. There is still a long way to go, but it is good to see something new rising from the ashes.

I can't see anything in the picture for all the clouds of fantasy dust. Maybe I need someone from Jobs With Justice to show me how to see it.

(for all you nincompoop NIMBY activist types, that was satire)

Actually, NIMBY doesn't really describe the JWJ crowd, as this is not THEIR backyard. I think CAVE people (Citizens Against Virtually Everything) and BANANAs (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything) are more appropriate.
