No Study Session Monday?

It does not appear the council will be holding a study session Monday night (August 25th). At one time, every Monday was supposed to be a meeting (regular meetings first and third Mondays, study session on off Mondays). But the assistant town clerk said no agenda was prepared and they had not been notified about any meeting for this Monday.

Former Mayor Everding had sent a memo to the council a few weeks ago requesting that if the ballot measure failed last Tuesday, the study session on August 25th be devoted to exploring his staff reorganization plan (which included unspecified personnel changes). The ballot measure does indeed seem to be failing (104 to 80 as of 5 pm yesterday), but Mayor Everding quit his post 2 days before the votes were cast. Seems like a discussion on how to fill the mayor's seat would be a good subject for a study session soon.

why would you think that they would like to have a public discussion about what to do about the mayor? the new 2-H majority will decide in private (on Jane's deck?) and pull the willing 3rd H along. they will make an appearance on monday and go through a charade. it will be quick and dirty, but formal. bradley is boss, children.

I think you have to be elected to the council to be appointed as Mayor. The three elected ones said NO!

Where do we go from here?

Stay tuned for unexpected results.

Anyone but Nada.

Oh, Jim, you old hammer tacker, you. You will insist on banging Nada around, won't you? From the front row? Have you no shame, man?

"I think you have to be elected to the council to be appointed as Mayor."

Then how did Everding become Mayor?

He was a member of the cabal ruling class.

Any registered voter in Ruston can be appointed Mayor or to Council. It's the law. Where do you guys get this stuff?
No notice or agenda is required to have a meeting. Haven't you been listening? That's part of the recent illegal stuff that's been pushed through... without public notice.
And who do you think is going to do the avalanche of work at Town Hall?

you are.....

You could be right because apparently the new clerk at Town Hall has quit after a dispute with the Town clerk treasurer, who was her supervisor.

Psst - don't let the Union folks know that the clerk treasurer is supervising Town Hall staff. She wants to be a member, but if they knew she was a supervisor she couldn't join.
