Special Council Meeting

The town council is holding a special meeting tomorrow night (Wednesday, June 4th) at 7 pm to appoint an interim mayor and legal services. Ruston has been without a town attorney since the end of May. Choosing the town attorney had been a point of contention between Mayor Transue and the council majority in recent weeks.

If recent practice is any indication, there will be no public comment allowed on these issues tomorrow night, and the council will likely come into the meeting with a mayoral selection already made. But please attend anyway and give your input to the individual elected officials before or after the meeting. They need to hear from us...

Mayor,Mayor who wants to be Mayor!
Little to no pay,no health insurance and all the abuse a small
town can dish out!
Must be current council member to apply.
No worries mate.
Looks like there will be 2 openings on council soon.
Your chance to become mayor shouldn't take long.

There probably shouldn't be any discussion about who the next mayor will be. The boys will want to put Ms. Hunt in the job. I overheard a conversation between Council members Albertson and Huson. Albertson noted that since it's a council meeting and not a mayor's meeting, Ms. Hunt is the perfect candidate. As a woman, she's used to not speaking unless spoken to and she'll do just exactly as the boys tell her.
