Special Meeting Tonight

Just in case you haven't heard, the Ruston council is holding a special meeting tonight at 7 pm at 5219 N. Shirley Street, Room 100 to appoint an interim mayor and hire "legal counsel" for the town. According to the state Open Meetings Act, council members should hold all their deliberations and make their decision about the new mayor in the public meeting tonight - rather than via phone calls or emails with each other in private. This has not been their practice in the last 4 appointments over the last 6 months.

Please attend tonight and view your elected officials first hand tonight. It's an important meeting.
