Dave Seago (News Tribune editorial page) follows Ruston politics ~ I think we must have some entertainment value. Check it out, it's an interesting read.
Ahh Dave, you're being kind. I'd use a lot stronger word to describe the goings-on. In 20+ years as a town resident and 12 years on the Council I've seen my share of weird but this group seems to have a goal of being weirdest of the weird.
It's funny the Ruston Connection hasn't addressed the latest developments in the Town’s fire services - they sure were quick to post congratulatory back-patting on the lightning-fast appointments to the Council.
I would have posted a comment/question regarding the fire services on the Ruston Connection but they've removed my access. Could it be they didn't like my opinions? Pity the poor souls who don't agree with them. I wonder if anyone else has lost access...wonder if they too voiced the "wrong" opinions.
Guess they really aren’t community advocates after all.
And have you wondered – what - or who - will be the next targets? Look out - better get your vest on.
Well put, Charlene. There are at least three of us who had our membership removed from the RC web page. I've asked the site administrator several times to clarify, but as usual they are not open about reasons for their actions. Connie M. announced at the council meeting Monday she has been removed as well, despite being told by someone (not with RC) that this was the official web site for Ruston.
The next target is the police department, as you know. They have been laying the groundwork for awhile. Anything that reminds them of the old Ruston; when we supported each other even during disagreements, when neighbors were more important than personal views (both literal and figurative). We both remember those days - and know they are tied to the identity found in part in our public safety departments. They wear the uniform and are first to help in crisis.
We'll keep vigilant. We are better prepared for the next battle now.
Please enjoy your time listening and sharing your thoughts. Comments are encouraged and are monitored for civility and accuracy.

Charlene (and others), you might want to post your comments on the Tribune blog as well. They will get a wider reading.
Done.
