The Town Hall provided this announcement on the process for filling the vacancy on the council:
COUNCILMEMBER VACANCY
The Ruston Town Council has a Council position open. To apply, please submit a resume/application no longer than two pages by Feb. 15, 2008. Copies will be sent to the Mayor and Council for review of appointment. The appointment will be made on March 14, 2008.

Bear in mind, no public input will be allowed on this process. I fully expect that Jane Hunt or some other friend of the RC group has already been chosen, but it would be refreshing to see some new faces.
