Today's Tribune reports that the Puyallup Council was surprised by 19 applicants for a council vacancy. Rather than give the vacancy to the runner-up in this race (who lost by an even closer margin than our Hedrick/Albertson race), they solicited applications and will consider everyone who is interested. Sounds like a much better way to represent their constituents than the "power grab" we experienced here in Ruston on December 3rd, 2007.
