The News Tribune yesterday described how Tacoma's new trauma care system is saving lives in the South Sound. Ruston is blessed to have one of these trauma surgeons living in town.
Dr. Ferrer has graciously served on Ruston's fire committee, sharing his many years of emergency medical experience to the benefit our community. He supports the fire committee's recommendations to keep and build our own local fire department. It should be noted that his opinion is his own and does not in any way reflect the views of the Tacoma Trauma Center.
Dr. Ferrer commented on the Ruston Council's decision to pursue a contract with Tacoma Fire for emergency services, "I am concerned about the lack of expertise and qualifications in the field of emergency medical services of the Ruston council members. I feel they lack the insight to make these life and death decisions."
